Terms of Use
Last updated October 2026. Plain language summary first, then the terms.
The short version
You buy a personal license to prepare with this guide. One person, one account, on your own devices, no sharing, no copying the content elsewhere, no scraping it, and no training models on it. Membership renews monthly until you cancel from your account page. Paid tiers carry a fourteen day refund line. Paid pages carry your visible watermark and an invisible per member marker, described in the Privacy Policy, so a leaked copy names its source.
License
Purchase grants a personal, non transferable license to use the guide, the Data and AI Wing, the problem bank, and every other part of this product for your own interview preparation. The license covers one person, on that person's own account and devices. Account sharing is not permitted, and neither is lending, selling, or giving access to another person, whether or not money changes hands. Reproducing, redistributing, reselling, or publishing the product's content, in whole or in part, is not permitted. Paid pages carry a per member watermark and an invisible per member marker and are served only to accounts with a current entitlement. There is no download route for paid content. Accounts found sharing access or distributing content may be suspended or terminated without a refund for the period in which the breach occurred.
An account may be signed in on at most three devices or browsers at one time. When a fourth sign-in happens, the oldest active session is signed out. The account page lists every active session, with the device or browser and the time it began, and the account holder may end any one of them, or all of them apart from the session in use. These limits apply to every account, free and paid alike, and they are part of the one person rule above rather than a separate restriction.
No scraping, extraction, or training
You may not scrape, crawl, spider, or otherwise extract this product's content in bulk, by hand or with automated tools, and you may not use any part of the content, including briefings, cases, problems, worked solutions, or companion output, to train, fine tune, or evaluate a machine learning or artificial intelligence model, or to build a competing product or dataset. Working through the material yourself, quoting a line in your own notes, and practicing with the companion as designed are all ordinary use and are not restricted by this section.

No guarantee
This guide teaches preparation method. It does not guarantee an interview, an offer, or any outcome at any firm. Recruiting decisions belong to the firms.
Subscriptions
Membership is $10 per month and renews automatically until cancelled. Cancellation is available from the account page at any time and takes effect at the end of the paid period. Prices for the one cycle, resume review, and mock case tiers are single payments stated on the Pricing page and never renew.
Refunds
Every paid tier carries a fourteen day refund line. Write to support@hackingstrategyfinance.com within fourteen days of purchase and the purchase is refunded to the original payment method.
Data wing, problem bank, and leaderboards
The Data and AI Wing, its briefings, and the bank of graded problems across the product are part of the same personal license as the rest of the guide: they are for your own preparation, they are served under the same entitlement rules, and paid items carry the same watermark and marker. Leaderboards are opt in. By turning the board on and choosing a display name, you agree that your display name and your counts of completed cases and problems may be shown to other members on the board. You can turn the board off at any time, which removes you from it. Completion counts are computed from scored attempts recorded on your account; sandbox practice does not count.
Video library
The video library presents videos published by their creators on YouTube, played through YouTube's own embedded player. Every video remains the property of its creator, is governed by YouTube's terms as well as these, and is listed here with our own summary and a link to the original. We claim no rights in any video. Watching through the embed is the intended use; downloading, rehosting, or republishing a creator's video is a matter between you and the creator and YouTube, and is not licensed by anything on this site. A creator who wants a listing changed or removed can write to legal@hackingstrategyfinance.com and it will be handled promptly.
Community and member content
The community section (the member directory, public profiles, connections, casing groups, comments and discussion, and messages) lets members keep a profile, join and create casing groups, connect with other members, post comments and discussion topics, exchange messages, and share meeting links such as Discord and Zoom invitations inside their groups. What you post remains yours. By posting, you grant Hacking Strategy & Finance a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty free license to store, display, reproduce, and distribute your content as needed to operate the community and the service, for as long as your content is on the site. That license ends when you delete the content, except for copies already quoted by other members inside a discussion and copies kept in ordinary backups for a limited time. You warrant that what you post is yours to post and does not carry another party's rights with it.
A community profile is private by default. Nothing on it is visible to anyone until you set it public. When you publish a profile, the display name, headline, partner note, practice focus, target tracks and firms, school, and class year you have entered become visible to readers of the directory, including readers who are not signed in. Your email address is never displayed in the community section. You can return the profile to private at any time; copies another member made while it was public are outside our control, as with anything published on the internet. A message thread exists only between two connected members or inside a casing group you belong to. Messages are stored on our systems so the thread can be shown to its participants; they are not end to end encrypted, and we may review a thread when a participant reports it.
A group owner controls the group's name, description, membership, practice plan, and meeting links, and may remove members and delete the group. Meeting links a group shares, including Discord and Zoom links, are shown to group members only as a product feature; we cannot control what a member does with a link once they can see it, and posting a group's meeting link outside the group is a violation of these Terms. The site does not host, record, or monitor meetings held on third party services, and what happens inside a meeting is the responsibility of its participants. A group named for a school or a firm is a member's practice group; it is not run by, endorsed by, or affiliated with that school or firm.
The paid content rule. The personal license in these Terms applies in the community section with full force. Do not paste, transcribe, or reconstruct paid briefing text, paid case bodies, exhibits, or worked solutions into comments, topics, messages, profiles, or group plans, in whole or in substantial part. Link to the content's page instead: a link shows a member who holds the entitlement the content, and shows a member who does not the purchase page, which is the intended outcome.
Conduct rules are simple and enforced. Be professional. No harassment, threats, or impersonation, no spam, advertising, or solicitation unrelated to recruiting preparation, no posting another person's private information, no sharing interview questions you are bound to keep confidential, no using the section to arrange the sharing of paid content outside its license, and no content that infringes anyone's rights. Conduct rules stated on the community pages themselves are part of this section. Every comment carries a report control, and reports are read by a moderator. We may remove or hide content, close a thread, remove a member from a group at the owner's request or on our own finding, and suspend or end an account's access to the community section or the site, with or without notice where the breach is clear. A member whose content is removed may write to support@hackingstrategyfinance.com to ask for the reason and to appeal; an appeal is read by a person, and the original decision is revisited on the content itself. You are responsible for what you post, and you agree to indemnify the site against claims arising from your content.
External case index
The site maintains an index of practice cases published by university consulting clubs and by firms. The index is link only: it carries our own titles, summaries, and classification, names the source on every entry, and links out to the source. We do not host, copy, or republish those cases. The cases remain the property of the clubs and firms named. If you own a listing, or speak for the club or firm that does, write to legal@hackingstrategyfinance.com. We acknowledge within two business days and remove or correct the listing within five business days of the request. A club that limits its book to its own members can have the listing removed or reduced to a link to the club's public page, at the club's choice.
Case contributions
Members may submit cases through the contribute page. By submitting, you keep ownership of the case and grant Hacking Strategy & Finance a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty free license to host the case, adapt it into interactive and companion formats, edit it for quality and consistency, and use it commercially, including inside the paid product, for as long as the site offers it. You warrant that the case is your own work or that you hold the rights needed to grant this license, and that the case is not subject to a confidentiality duty and does not come from a currently open interview process. You agree to indemnify the site against claims arising from a submission that breaches that warranty. Your case is credited in the form you choose on the submission form: your name, a handle, or anonymous. You may withdraw a case on thirty days written notice to legal@hackingstrategyfinance.com. Withdrawal is prospective: copies already delivered inside a product cycle a member purchased remain licensed for that cycle. Nothing is published automatically. Every submission passes a rights screen, an originality screen, and a quality review, and we may decline any submission.
Independence
Hacking Strategy & Finance is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, any bank, or any university. Firm and school names appear in text only, in the nominative sense, to describe the subject of the guide. No logos are used.
