What is collected
An account holds your email address, your class year and school when you provide them, your stage progress, your drill and case scores, your readiness history, and your story bank entries. Payment details are handled by the payment provider and never touch this site's servers.
Signing in with Google
If you use Continue with Google, Google sends us your name, your email address, and a stable identifier for your Google account, so we can sign you in and link the account. We never see or store your Google password, and we receive nothing else from Google: not your contacts, files, or emails. If the email on your Google account matches an existing account here, the two are linked and share the same progress, access, and story bank. You can unlink Google at any time from the Sign-in methods card on your account page, unless Google is the only way your account can sign in, in which case unlinking stays off so the account is never left with no way in.
What the companion remembers
The Interviewer remembers your year, school, stage progress, readiness history, case and drill scores, and story bank so he can greet you by your progress and route you to the material that fixes your weak spot. You can see everything he remembers on your account page and clear it at any time. Clearing it resets his memory of you.
Community visibility
Your community profile is private by default. Nothing about you is visible to anyone until you turn your profile on yourself. When you do, readers of the member directory, including readers who are not signed in, see your display name, your school and class year if you provided them, your target tracks and firms, and the note you wrote about what you are looking for in a partner. Your email address is never displayed in the community. Turning the profile off hides it again. Messages are stored so a thread can be shown to its participants; they are not end to end encrypted, and a reported thread may be reviewed by a moderator.
Groups, comments, and messages
Group memberships, comments, discussion posts, and messages are stored on the site's servers so the community can work: a thread has to exist somewhere for both sides to read it. Comments and discussion posts are visible to members with access to the content they sit under. Group pages, including meeting links posted inside a group, are visible to that group's members only. Messages are visible to the members in the conversation. Moderators may review content that is reported, and reported content is kept with its report so the review can be checked later.
Leaderboards
Leaderboards are off by default. If you turn the board on, the display name you choose and your counts of completed cases and problems are shown to other members. Nothing else about your account is shown, and turning the board off removes you from it.
Watermarks and copy protection markers
Paid content carries two marks, and both exist for one reason: to keep a member's copy from becoming everyone's copy. The first is visible: a line naming the account the content is licensed to. The second is invisible: a per member marker embedded in the text itself when the page is served to you. The marker carries your member number and nothing else. It does not record when you read, how long you read, or anything you do; it sits in the text so that if the text is found outside the site, it can be traced to the account it was served to. Reading, searching, and copying passages into your own notes all work exactly as they would without it.
What is never done
Member data is not sold. It is not shared with firms, schools, or advertisers. Questions the companion cannot answer are logged without personal detail so the guide's content can improve.
Your controls
You can view and correct your account data from your account page, and clear the companion's memory there at any time. For a full export or deletion of your account, write to support@hackingstrategyfinance.com. Deletion removes the account and the companion's memory of it.
